Signs of Evanston

OVERVIEW /

I’m fascinated by the identity of a place and the sense of connection it fosters. Every city has its unique character, shaped by the small details that give it life. Growing up in Evanston, Illinois, I set out to explore my hometown through typography. Inspired by Louise Fili’s Graphique de la Rue: The Signs of Paris, I documented the typography in Evanston’s signage, capturing the character and history embedded in the city’s visual landscape.

The result was Signs of Evanston—a book that explores the city through its typography, a visual love letter to my hometown.
